Sunday School

Paramahansa Yogananda said: ‘Properly organized schools are gardens where infant souls are grown and nurtured. The care and spiritual nourishment of the early life of human plant usually determines its later development’.

Paramahansa Yogananda formed the first SRF Sunday Schools in the 1940s for the purpose to inspire children to seek God, to love Him above all else, and to share that love with all.

They will come to understand that security and inner peace is found through an inner relationship with God, not through the ‘the things of the world’. The children thus learn at an early age how to live a happy, balanced life by bringing God into their daily activities, and developing a personal relationship with Him through meditation.

Sunday School classes are usually held on the first Sunday of each  month from September to June. Sunday School times:

Children (age 6 to 11):  Junior Sunday School – 11.00 a.m to 12.00 noon

Youths  (age 12 to 17): Senior Sunday School – 12.00 noon to 1.00 pm

Registration forms for attending the SRF Sunday School are available in the information area in our  bookroom. For further information, please contact us.

Self-Realization Fellowship World Prayer Circle

Most men consider the course of events as natural and inevitable. They little know what radical changes are possible through prayer”. (Paramahansa Yogananda)

Created by Paramahansa Yogananda for serving the world through prayer, the Self-Realization Fellowship World Wide Prayer Circle has helped many of those in need of healing or overcoming challenging experiences in their lives to gain divine power, peace and harmony.

There is a prayer box in our bookroom where you can leave prayer requests. Each request is sent unopened to SRF headquarters and placed in Paramahansa Yogananda’s room. SRF monastics and devotees all over the world pray daily for everyone for whom prayers have been requested.

You can also submit prayer requests for you or someone else to the Prayer Council of Self Realization Fellowship.

If you wish to participate in the Self-Realization Fellowship Worldwide Prayer Circle to serve others through prayers, you can enroll by completing an online form.

Volunteering at the Toronto Centre of SRF

Paramahansa Yogananda said: "In being of spiritual, mental and material service to others, you will find your own needs fulfilled."

We welcome all SRF members who are interested in serving at our Centre. The Toronto Centre is completely self-supporting and is operated entirely by volunteers.

Members are usually invited to serve at least once a month, but are welcome to serve more often if they wish. To become a volunteer, one should be an SRF Lessons student and have attended Services regularly (at least once a week) for the past 6 months before beginning to serve in an official capacity. For more information about serving at our Centre and schedules for current volunteers are available in our bookroom.

Donations

There is no charge for attending any of our services. The cost of running the Centre is entirely covered by donations. Your offerings enable us to meet the expenses of our meetings and to contribute to the worldwide needs of the SRF work. We deeply appreciate your support.

If you wish, you can also make a donation online directly to the  SRF headquarters in  Los Angeles.
